How fees work
What you pay depends on how you pay. Each answer is here in plain words, and our front desk goes through yours before your child's first visit.
Insurance we work with
We bill many kinds of plans, and we tell you whether we are in network with your child's plan before you book. The list is by type of plan, not by company. Our front desk checks the plan card.
Most PPO plans
Employer plans
Medicaid
Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
Auto injury coverage
If you pay yourself
If you do not use insurance, you pay on the day of each visit. We tell you the fee before you book, and we do not bill your plan for visits you pay for yourself. We keep a few reduced-fee spots for families who need them. Ask our front desk; you do not have to explain.
An estimate in advance
If you pay without insurance, we give you a written estimate before the first visit: what we expect each visit to cost and what it includes. If a bill comes in $400 or more above your estimate, federal law lets you dispute it. You can ask for an estimate at any time.
Checking your benefits
Our front desk checks your child's benefits and calls you before the first visit to tell you what they find. Your plan has the final say on what it pays, and your copay, deductible and coinsurance are set by your plan.
What the first visit includes
The first visit is about an hour with a physical therapist who works with children, and a parent stays in the room. The therapist watches your child play and move, explains what they see, and agrees on a plan with you, including the risks and the choices.
Questions about paying
Does my plan cover this?
We bill many kinds of plans, including most PPO plans, employer plans, Medicaid and CHIP. Your plan decides what it pays. We check your child's benefits and call you before the first visit.
What if we pay without insurance?
We give you a written estimate before the first visit, and you pay on the day of each visit. If your plan may reimburse you, we give you a detailed receipt to send in. Your plan decides whether it pays.
What if my child was hurt in an accident?
Get emergency care first. Tell us who your adjuster is, and your state decides who may direct your care. We explain how bills are handled before you start.
